Veteran Truck Driver Allen Smith Creates First iPhone Trucking Application, "Trucker," for His Fellow Professional Truck Drivers

Dunnellon, FL (PRWEB) March 19, 2009 -- For the last few years, Allen Smith has been known within the trucking industry as "a person who really cares" about our nation's truck drivers. Allen is a 31-year veteran of the trucking industry, with many of those years being OTR (over the road). His knowledge and understanding of the life of an OTR truck driver is second to none. His compassion and concerns for drivers is demonstrated through many avenues, including his popular and interactive AskTheTrucker (http://www.AskTheTrucker.com) blog, which encourages drivers and students to express and share their knowledge and experiences with one another.

This same heartfelt compassion is what motivated and inspired the creation of "Trucker." (http://www.truckerapp.com) He believed that drivers needed a resource where they could easily access their most vital needs, including links to government agencies, lowest fuel prices, traffic and weather, truck stop directories, low clearance, weigh scales, and many other resources, which drivers need on a daily basis. Also included in Trucker are access to blogs and forums, industry news, and YouTube videos which will be uploaded to the application on a daily basis. The Trucker application will encourage drivers to participate with these continued updates by allowing them to send in URLs of their favorite videos. These videos can then be uploaded and shared among other iPhone Trucker application users. Another feature which will encourage drivers to participate, is the opportunity for them to send in their over the road photos which can be rotated within the main splash page of the application.

Allen Smith has come along way since he first introduced his presence on the internet with the ebook, "The Truth About Trucking." This is the book that is helping thousands of drivers and CDL students (http://www.truthabouttrucking.com) succeed within the trucking industry by avoiding the many scams of truck driving schools and trucking companies. There have been many milestones in between, including his audio CD's, his two latest books, "So You've Got Your CDL...Now What?" and "The Best Truck Driving Jobs- A State by State Guide," and now, the very popular Blog Talk Radio (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/truthabouttrucking) show, "Truth About Trucking Live," where Allen and guests discusses many of the hottest topics within the trucking industry.

To know more about Allen Smith or to inquire about sponsorship of the iPhone Trucker application, you can e-mail him at info (at) truckerapp (dot) com or visit http://www.truckerapp.com.

He is an advocate of truck driving safety and dedicates much of his time aiding many within trucking by offering his knowledge and experiences through his ebooks, articles blog talk radio show, AskTheTrucker blog, e-mail and phone communication.
